Friends – The Complete Fourth Season is one of Friends’ best and most memorable seasons. With happenings like Chandler spending Thanksgiving in a box, Phoebe becoming a surrogate mother for her half-brother, Ross getting married and saying Rachel’s name instead of Emily’s and of course, Monica and Chandler hooking up, the fourth season of Friends contains some of the show’s best moments, which makes it a must have for any Friends fan.

1. “The One With the Jellyfish”- In Montauk, Ross dumps bald Bonnie after kissing Rachel, who gave him an 18-page letter that he fell asleep reading. Chandler pees on Monica’s jellyfish sting.

2. “The One With the Cat”- Phoebe finds a stray cat and she thinks that it’s the reincarnation of her mother. Joey gets locked in his entertainment center that he is trying to sell, while the potential buyer robs the apartment.

3. “The One With the Cuffs”- Chandler and Joey furnish their looted apartment with a canoe and some patio furniture. Rachel’s boss, Joanna, who is seeing Chandler, leaves him pantless and handcuffed in her office.

4. “The One With the Ballroom Dancing”- Treeger, the building’s superintendent, threatens to evict the girls unless Joey can teach him to dance.

5. “The One With Joey’s New Girlfriend”- Ross and Rachel attempt to make each other jealous with their new significant others. It turns out that Ross’s new squeeze just wants him as a babysitter and Rachel’s beau is an immature thief. Phoebe discovers her sexy phlegm voice while she has a cold.

6. “The One With the Dirty Girl”- Ross dates Cheryl (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos), a paleontology doctoral candidate, who happens to be very sloppy. Chandler buys Kathy a copy of “The Velveteen Rabbit” as a birthday gift.

7. “The One Where Chandler Crosses the Line”- Kathy becomes aware of Chandler’s feelings for her and lets him know that she feels the same way by making out with him.

8. “The One With Chandler in a Box”- It’s Thanksgiving and as a punishment for Chandler for kissing Kathy, Joey makes him stay in a box. Monica injures her eye, goes to the ophthalmologist and the doctor turns out to be Richard’s son.

9. “The One Where They Are Going to Party”- Monica’s scathing review of a local restaurant gets her hired as a chef. Mike “Gandalf” Ganderson (”only, like, the funniest guy in the world” according to Ross) is coming to town. Joanna is killed by a cab.

10. “The One With the Girl From Poughkeepsie”- Monica is sick and tired of the staff at the restaurant treating her so badly, so she decides to hire Joey just to fire him in front of the crew to show them how tough she can be.

11. “The One With Phoebe’s Uterus”- Frank Jr. and Alice ask Phoebe if she’ll be a surrogate mother for them. Ross gets Joey a job as a tour guide for the museum.

12. “The One With the Embryos”- It is Rachel and Monica vs. Chandler and Joey in a game to find out who knows who the best (”He’s a transponster!”). If the girls win, the guys have to get rid of their chick and duck. But if the guys win, they get the big, purple apartment. Phoebe undergoes implantation of Alice’s embryos and later finds out that she is pregnant.

13. “The One With Rachel’s Crush”- Kathy’s sexy appearance in a play has got Chandler worried about her faithfulness. Rachel tries desperately and clumsily to get the attention of Joshua, a newly divorced client.

14. “The One With Joey’s Dirty Day”- Rachel asks Ross to take out Mr. Waltham’s niece from England, Emily. Monica and Phoebe try to help Chandler get over his breakup with Kathy by taking him to a strip club. Charlton Heston guest stars.

15. “The One With All the Rugby”- Trying to impress Emily’s rugby playing friends, Ross takes up the sport.

16. “The One With the Fake Party”- When pregnant vegetarian Phoebe is tortured by her cravings for meat, Joey offers to trade dietary preferences with her. Rachel is determined to invite Joshua to an unplanned bon voyage party for Emily.

17. “The One With the Free Porn”- Joey and Chandler come upon an unscrambled porn channel and decide not to turn off the TV, in case that would make them lose it. Phoebe finds out that she’s having triplets.

18. “The One With Rachel’s New Dress”- Ross gets nervous when Emily hits it off with Susan (his ex-wife’s lesbian lover).

19. “The One With All the Haste”- Rachel is irked by the singing neighbor across the alley and the battle to re-swap the apartments is on. Ross asks Emily to marry him.

20. “The One With All the Wedding Dresses”- Rachel blurts out an impromptu proposal to Joshua, which scares him off. Monica and Phoebe hang out in wedding dresses.

21. “The One With All the Invitations”- Writing out invitations to his wedding causes Ross to have flashbacks about his relationship with Rachel.

22. “The One With the Worst Best Man Ever”- Phoebe’s horrible mood swings have Rachel and Monica walking on eggshells. Joey doesn’t know what happened to Emily’s missing wedding ring.

23. “The One With Ross’s Wedding”- The gang, sans a pregnant Phoebe and a heartbroken Rachel, head to England for Ross and Emily’s wedding. But Rachel decides to fly to London herself and tell Ross that she loves him. She ends up losing her nerve to tell him when she gets there, but, of course, he ends up saying her name during the ceremony.

This is definitely one of the best season of Friends. Here is a list of the episodes:

This movie is great. More fun and many more laughs. I recommend having a movie night and watching Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktacular and The Revenge of Jimmy. Both movies are now a Halloween tradtion. Great fun for all ages and even us big kids at heart. I love how Hannah saves Halloween in this one. As Scary Godmother would say, “Happy Halloween To All, And To All A Good Fright!”

My 8 and 6 year old have watched this several times. I think that it is a good sequel to the first movie.

“Medellín… sumas y restas” (Medellín… Addictions and Substractions – 2004) takes you to the 80’s, when drug cartels are in complete control of the city of Medellin and its population. The world of luxury, lust, and power seduce Santiago (Juan Carlos Uribe), a young engineer, as he ventures into the treacherous business of cocaine trafficking. Within a few weeks, Santiago becomes a wealthy and powerful man with the entire world at his feet. However, when he comes face-to-face with the true nature of the drug business, Santiago discovers he is trapped in a world of violence where loyalty is traded for money and the consequence of a mistake is death. Santiago soon finds out that in the extravagant world of cocaine, one loses perspective of what is gained and what is lost.

This is am amazing, thoughtful and extremely well done documentary on the far reaching effects of the drug cartels and how it affects every aspect of all lives. Riveting to the point that I couldn’t pull myself away from it. Just one of the fascinating things about the film, is all the industries that the cartel violence has generated, like plastic surgeons to repair the “packages” sent to the homes of the kidnap victims. Also, what a common occurrence kidnapping is and all the things that north Americans take for granted. Also made clear to me how we’re all a little too comfortable with the “it can’t happen here syndrome” since it CAN and is, slowly, small town by small town. Poverty makes people do quite a bit to feed their families and we shouldn’t underestimate what the Cartels can convince uneducated, desperate people to do for money to save their children from starvation.

This is an fabulous, informative, well thought and executed, chilling documentary that no one should miss. It should be shown in every school in every state. Drugs do much more than kill with the toll they take on society, and there’s little we really do to stop it, or even legalize it, if that what it takes. A MUST see. Don’t miss it and give to all those you care about. I have and all have felt as I do.

If you are a fan of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, then you probably wondered what happened at the end of the last series. What happened to the characters after the show ended? How did Katie grow up? Were Colleen and Andrew happily married? Do Sully and Dr. Quinn have any more children? What about Cloud Dancing and Dorothy, Robert E. and Grace?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman – The Movies! Click Here

I too, wondered those questions, until I discovered there were 2 Dr. Quinn movies that took place after the series had been cancelled. I quickly searched everywhere to get copies of them, only to find out they were being released on DVD a few months later.

The first Dr. Quinn movie, referred to here as “Dr. Quinn, the Movie” is also known as “Revolutions”. The film begins by bringing us back to Colorado Springs. We see Sully as an important figure on the town council, Dr. Mike still working hard to cure people, and Katie, now a little girl watching her mom at work. The town looks just the same, as do the characters. Just like in the series, a huge event happens; Katie is kiddnapped! Dr. Mike and Sully have to follow her kiddnappers into Mexico, where most of the movie takes place. The settings are beautiful, (mainly filmed in Malibu Creek State Park and Paramount Ranch, in different locations than the series took place) Its riviting and the storyline is MUCH more complex than any stories that took place in the TV series. This was my favorite of the two films.

The second Dr. Quinn movie, “The Heart Within” follows up on Dr. Mike’s family in Boston. Brian is a man now (he grew up beautifully, and sooo handsome!) and Colleen and her husband, Dr. Andrew Cook struggle to get Colleen’s opinions accepted at Harvard Medical School. Like her mother, Colleen must also fight the prejudice of men as a woman doctor. She must also face Andrew Cook’s father, a professor at Harvard. Dr. Quinn’s mother is having heart troubles, and needs an experimental surgury to recover, but will it be worth it? Brian sets out to impress his family, and proove he is finally a man. This is a fabulous film, and really brings back what was so important in the TV series, morals, judgements and values, and teaching the difference between right and wrong. I thought that seeing Boston again was wonderful, the sets are amazing, as are the costumes. Dr Quinn has a BEAUTIFUL victorian bustled gown made up of GOLD satins and silks, and Sully is gorgeous in formalwear. Many people think this film was the better of the two, but I thought it left too many loose ends.

These movies are a must for any fan of the series. The characters are still just as memorable as they were through the series, and its a perfect wa to say goodbye to the end of the Dr. Quinn era. I never felt like the season 6 finale was enough, and the actors had no idea that the show was being cancelled; everyone anticipated comming back for a season 7. The two films satisfied my need to say goodbye to the characters, and answered some of my questions. I think these films were well done, for being made so long after the series had been cancelled. They are worth the money!

I have been a fan of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman (DQMW) since it first aired in 1993 on CBS. I watched every single episode and now own them all on DVD. I was so happy to see that the movies that were made after the show went off the air were released as well on DVD. I loved Revolutions aka Dr Quinn The Movie. It has lots of Sully (Joe Lando)!! The premise of this movie is that Katie, the Sully’s young daughter is kidnapped because Sully wouldn’t vote a certain way for a copper mining group. With the help of Cloud Dancing, Sully and Dr. Mike find a wagon that was in an accident and fear that Katie has been killed. Dr. Mike blames Sully for not warning them that by not voting for the copper mine he put their family, especially their daughter, in danger. They are all very sad after burying the little girl they found. But good news comes when word that there were two girls Katie’s age traveling that day and a girl who favored Katie was seen with people in Mexico. After an autopsy performed by Dr. Quinn confirms the dead girl isn’t Katie, they and their son Brian Cooper, and others from the series (town), Jake Slicker, Robert E., Horace Bing, and Cloud Dancing go to Mexico to get Katie back. They run into difficulties together and individually, but Sully and Robert E. save the day. This movie has it’s usual wonderful cinematogrophy and historic mentions like the series did. It is a good adventure movie with a little bit of romance tied in for good measure. The Heart Within is the second movie on this DVD. It was written by the creator of the series DQMW, Beth Sullivan. In this movie, Michaela, Sully, Katie, and Brian are traveling by train to Boston for Colleen’s graduation from Harvard. She lives there now with her husband, Dr. Andrew Cook. When they arrive in Boston, they are greeted by Dr. Mike’s sister Rebecca who informs the group that Mrs. Quinn, their mother, is sick in the hospital. As luck would have it, Mrs. Quinn is released to go home as long as she doesn’t over do it. She has been diagnosed with a heart condition. Again, as in the series, there are subplots throughout the movie. One is some men try to bribe Sully to help them do bad stuff. Another is Brian, who wants to be a reporter, is offered a job at the Boston Globe. And another is the prejudice that Colleen faces for being a woman and receiving the highest grade on the test to become a doctor. Sadly, Mrs. Quinn dies in this movie (Beth had a history of killing characters even when the series was on.) She leaves her money to her daughter Michaela so that she can build her dream hospital in Colorado Springs, and she leaves money to Colleen so that she and her husband can have their own medical practice in Boston. This movie wasn’t as adventurous as Revolutions, but it had it’s own moments when Sully let those bad business men know what he thought about their bribe and their threats! All in all, if you are a fan of this show, then you will like the movies. Unfortunately, The Heart Within doesn’t have many of the original townsfolk in it like Revolutions does, but it is still great to see the Sully family once again. I wish there were more.

On November 14, 1970, an airplane carrying the Marshall University football team, coaches, and many prominent supporters crashed with all aboard killed. This movie portrays what happened to those left behind and how they rose from the ashes of this disaster and resurrected the football team.

Since everyone knows what is in store, the first part of the movie is especially poignant as you meet the players and know their lives are destined to end far too early. What a typical moviegoer might not be familiar with is the character of Jack Lengyel, a man who was the only one willing to come forward and try to salvage the football program. Matthew McMcConaughey gives a stirring performance as Coach Lengyel as does Matthew Fox as Red Dawson, the assistant coach who gives up his seat at the last minute to another person. The guilt of being a survivor eats at him and nearly destroys his life.

Emotional, uplifting, and enjoyable….this movie manages to honor those who died and those who picked up the pieces and restored pride to Marshall.

I have lived in Huntington, WV almost my entire life and attended Marshall University. I was a small child when the plane crashed in 1970. I remember, first hand, what our town and community went through after the tragic loss of so many lives. When I first heard that the movie was going to be made, I was both thrilled and trepidatious. Could a big time Hollywood movie capture the real event with integrity, honesty and respect? The answer is a resounding Yes!

McG, McConaughey, Fox and the rest of the cast and crew treated our story with all of that and more. The movie is historically accurate, (thanks to a great script by Jamie Linden) the acting is excellent, the soundtrack is fabulous, and McG – thank you for filming a good portion of this movie in Huntington!

This movie was not only “necessary” but a story that applies to so many other “rise from the ashes” events in our world today. I know it would seem easy for me to love this movie because I lived it, but my adoration for this film actually comes from the efforts and dedication that the film makers put into this project. They took a true story and made it into a movie that can touch the heart of anyone who sees it.

For those critics who spend too much time focusing on the “pacing,” and “spirituality” or other minutia, you’re missing the point. This isn’t a film for pretentious, overly analytical critics or Sunday School debate. Enjoy this film for what it is. It was intended to share an uplifting and heart-warming true story and to evoke understanding, empathy, courage and determination. If you have any humanity in you, you will like this movie! GO HERD! WE ARE MARSHALL!!

This was a really great anime series. I liked the theme music even though it took me a while to get used to it. The storylines are great. Like it’s predecessor Dragonball Z, the stories can sometimes be a bit drug out. But like Dragonball Z the series certainly does make up for it with a lot of action and suspense. This series also ends on a high note with Goku seeming more like a Japanese version of Superman. Hey, like Superman they even made a statue of Goku to show how extraordinary of a character he is.

I’m a hardcore DBZ fan, but watching the first episodes of GT was utterly disappointing. Seriously.. just avoid this series.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over 20 years since “Blood Red Sky” was filmed. As a couple of other people have posted who were there, it was an amazing event. It felt historic even at the time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Live at Red Rocks! Click Here

Although the weather is exactly why it’s so dramatic with the fog and steam, the entire show was very nearly cancelled because of the conditions. Like one guy mentioned, it was about 35 degrees out at Red Rocks that night, after a full day of cold drizzling rain.

I was the music editor of the local alt.weekly paper at the time, and had been in on some meetings announcing the filming. Barry Fey, the concert’s promoter, had been a very early supporter of U2 and booked them into a small 1400-seat theater in Denver when they first toured the US for “Boy.” So they liked Fey and wanted to work with him for this Red Rocks gig.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Live at Red Rocks! Click Here

Unfortunately it got cold in the days before the concert. They actually did officially cancel it — both The Alarm and U2 agreed to play a second, make-up concert the next day in a local arena (DU, I think, or maybe Regis University). But they decided to do the Red Rocks performance anyway because they’d invested so many thousands of dollars for the shoot — the pyrotchnics (there are normally no fires atop the dramatic sandstone rocks around the stage!), the camera equipment, the technicians.

I’m sure if the filming hadn’t been planned, the performance would have been cancelled in a second. I don’t remember if the show as sold out (I kind of doubt it), but in the 9,000-seat amphitheater, only about 3,000 people showed up for the filming. The movie does a great job of making it seem like a full house.

It’s to Bono and U2’s credit that they came out roaring, and to all music fans’ benefit that this performance was caught on camera.

I alternated between the 5th row in the middle and the 2nd row over to stage left, and was in awe of what was going on on the stage. U2 simply took it over and made it their own showcase gig, as if they were playing an audition for entrance into heaven. Everything was (I’m sure) unscripted, including the bit with the flag and bringing the girl on stage. It was all natural, just like the setting.

This was just at the point, as some writers have mentioned, where the band was evolving from cult status to superstardom, and they were just hitting their stride.

One thing, though: their performance was hot, but not hot enough to help you forget the cold — I froze my butt off that night!

As for why no DVD, I wonder how much of it is because of licensing and ownership rights. I don’t even know if TTS, the Denver-based production company that managed the shoot, exists anymore. So I wonder who owns the rights to the film.

Perhaps U2, and maybe they don’t want it on DVD ultimately because of the made-for-TV audio and video quality.

I happened to stumble on this series of reviews and I’m glad I stopped to read everyone’s comments. It brought back a lot of memories, and made me want to root around my basement for my promotional copy of the film from TTS!

You know, I was planning of walking to my local library later today to donate some old videotapes, including this one, for their collection, because I simply assumed that this would be available on DVD by now. BUT NOW I find out that is not the case! Why not, pray tell??? This is one of the greatest concert films ever made, second perhaps only to Talking Heads’ “Stop Making Sense.” The setting, Red Rocks ampitheater near Denver, is a spectacular geological setting, with wind, fog, gas torches producing gigantic gouts of flame high above the audience, and mountain air chilly enough to show clouds of vapor pouring off Bono’s skin. As for U2’s performance, well, this was at a time (1983) when they were just moving beyond cult status and into rock superstardom, yet were still retaining enough of their keening punk purity to drive an audience into rapture. And what a lucky audience this is! PLEASE get this onto DVD as soon as possible!

in the first tape it seems like deep down Vash is brave, but when he realizes what he is doing he chickens out and is a coward… but that’s only in the fist tape, in the second one he actually shoots some, if you look closely you can see him use his second of his three guns (hence the name TRIgun) and he appears to be quite a bit braver and not so much a geek… and you actually peek into the past… not a big peek, i expect that in future episodes, but it is still a peak… if you are afraid of spending money without seeing it… borrow it from a friend… and then buy it..

Well, if you are reading this, then you must have already seen the first volume, “The $$60 Billion Man”.

You won’t be disappointed. BUT from now on there are only three episodes per DVD (except for the last volume).

Everyone says that this DVD is some sort of turning point, but it really isn’t. The action gets upped a bit, but it still has a lot of great humor in it. The story doesn’t really get much more serious until Vol. 4 (the halfway point).

Episode 5: Vash vs. an entire town Episode 6: First look at the ‘lost technology’ Episode 7: First episode of a 2 part series set on a train.

Mary-Louise Parker is phenomenal as the pill-popping neurotic realtor that puts in a classified ad for a traveling comanion on her trek to the west coast. The one who answers her ad is a dred-lock-wearing black lesbian (played masterfully by Whoopi Goldberg)… and both are a little startled by each other and how contrasting their lives are. Parker is slightly horrified that her traveling companion is gay and Goldberg is very horrified that she’s going to be trapped in a car for over a week with this psycho, anal woman.

Goldberg’s character makes a quick diversion to visit a friend (Drew Barrymore) and a crazy turn of events puts Barrymore in the van with Goldberg and Parker.

The three of them all have skeletons in their closets and all sorts of emotional baggage that they have not dealt with, much less shared with anyone else. This dynamic mix of diverse personalities is first a cauldron of irritation, frustration and prejudices, but together the women face some crazy circumstances that bring them together.

It turns out they all have much more in common than they realized. There are very touching scenes where only the most stone-hearted individual will not feel a crack in their throat… and there are scenes that will make you laugh so hard, you might just lose bladder control.

Themes include family, loyalty, race, bigotry, domestic violence, unrequited love, romance, loss, terminal illness and death. This may seem like a lot of themes for just one movie, but the film is so real, you feel like you’re one of the girls in the van, hanging out with them. They become your friends and you quickly bond with them. The film was directed by Herbert Ross who is known for directing “Steel Magnolias.” This film is just as powerful, if not more so.

My less than perfect rating is due to the lack of extras on the DVD. How about interviews with the director and the cast? Trailers? Music video of the Indigo Girls (they had cameos in this film)? It is very unfortunate that no effort was made to make this a DVD worthwhile getting in lieu of VHS.

In spite of the DVD’s shortcomings, the film itself is fantastic and I recommend it highly. Domestic violence, mature themes and language make this not suitable for kids.

I think this film qualifies primarily as a “chick flick”, at least according to every man who has ever watched this with me. Maybe there are some of you guys out there reading this who’ll disagree. Feel free to chime in, preferably in the comments section.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Boys on the Side! Click Here

This is one of my favorite films but it is the kind of film that is a guilty pleasure. I can’t seem to avoid watching it when I catch it on television but I am always left wondering WHY I find it so addictive.

Is it because of Mary Louise Parker, an actress some can’t stand but who I find to be both quirky and charming, with her performances in Fried Green Tomatoes, Angels in America and this film (Boys on the Side)? Looking as frail as she often does, with a face that isn’t classically beautiful, she is a walking poster for someone needing help although she is spunky and stubborn enough to not seem totally pathetic?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Boys on the Side! Click Here

But I don’t think that is the whole reason I’m drawn to this film. Perhaps it is it the wild series of events, however improbable, that get me to both laugh, mostly at Drew Barrymore who can wring the comedy out of every moment, however sad.

There are moments in this film that also make me teary (won’t say why, no spoilers here). Drew Barrymore is just so irreverent when it comes to her very disorganized, chaotic life and her romantic issues. Not surprisingly, she doesn’t just skirt the law, she practically raises her shirt (as she did on David Letterman) and displays her assets to the world.

Whoopie Goldberg is in fine form, too, generally unflappable and adding some great heart to this film, the main nurturer and caretaker of the group. Anyway, this movie always hooks me, like some fish destined for dinner.

P.S. On a totally unrelated note, I find the closing scene of Three Days of the Condor, with Max Von Sydow, to be just as addictive. “It will happen like this…” he says, almost as though he were reciting poetry and them speaks so softly of a terrible day to come, in the most soothing and practical tones imaginable. He has to be among the most intriguing killers in movie history.
