I bought this dvd from our local grocery store, which sold them out VERY fleet. The plunge epic about papa raising the largest pumpkin is very salubrious, has a astronomical legal lesson too. One of the main reasons this was purchased was for the Dreadful Dream epic on it, which is well loved in the book fabricate in this house. However, the fable is completely different on the DVD, and that was quite disappointing because the book is quite droll. Wish they hadn’t rewritten that one. Other than that, it’s been viewed over and over and over again in this house and hasn’t grown tired. Highly recommend!
I belief kids shouldn’t gape movies until they are five. Then I had twins! We limit movies to 1/2 hr a day and some days don’t notice any. That said the Berenstain Bears immediately appealed to all the family because the stories are sweet and simple, but deal with sincere world problems. There’s a focus on values and ethics, but it’s mild fun and cute for the kids. My girls (age three) never tire of seeing these stories over and over. They especially like the ones that are unprejudiced a small bit scary such as the “Green Eyed Monster” in which Sister Absorb has a repugnant dream about her envy.

While various MST3K episodes have circulated over the internet and from companies like Rhino, the MST3K movie has long since disappeared from DVD shelves. Now, rather than rent a copy from Netflix and then “lose” it so you can support one (or pay extravagant prices on Ebay), Universal has rereleased this large film to the delight of fans everywhere.

So what makes this different from any normal episode? Well, first of all it’s state between the sixth and seventh seasons (factual after the departure of TV’s Frank and before Pearl joins as a regular), so Doctor F has the terrible guy side all to himself. Fortunately, Tag is more than estimable of making his every moment on veil a blast (there’s even a droll “mini-origin” monologue that starts the film off to glean everyone up to urge) . The station is finally expanded here and we bag to witness more of the ship finally. But, strangely enough, this is actually SHORTER than any of the episodes you perceive on television. This was done because the studio was terrified people who weren’t familiar with the reveal would bag bored in the theater–but of course, why would they go scrutinize it if they weren’t familiar with the present in the first space?
The movie they determine to riff is “This Island Earth”, which I always view wasn’t such a terrible film anyway. However, Mike and the Bots do manage to squeeze in some astronomical lines throughout. Definitely worth the time!

One tiny warning: they do expend a few more luminous words here than they did on television. Not often by any means, but they sneak a couple in here and there.
I’m so ecstatic we’re finally seeing this gem return to DVD! Don’t know what brought it on, but thank you!
The approved TV reveal that revolves around a man and his two robots heckling rotten movies in dwelling has found its procedure on film (very hard to secure, but it’s there!) . “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie” gives you the rare opportunity of enjoying a unpleasant movie as Mike and the robots are there to benefit you through it with their wisecracking and flawless delivery. It’s lawful that anyone can heckle a dreadful movie… but very few can do it as righteous as these guys can.
The inflamed and contaminated scientist, Dr. Clayton Forrester, has created an corrupt cramped arrangement that is walk to give him world domination… but first thing’s first. He plans to torment Mike Nelson and the robots by sending them a staunch stinker of a film to scrutinize called, “This Island Earth.” He is convinced that this movie will drive them insane. And since the guys cannot control when the movie begins or ends, they are forced to peep the lawful apprehension that is this dreadful movie that has a lobster creature dressed in slacks. Will this be the ultimate cheese that breaks the boys’ spirits? You’ll get out once you open this hilarious movie.
The movie isn’t all that different from the regular note, which is a major plus. Distinct, there is a microscopic bit of a state going on that concerns Dr. Forrester’s idea for global domination, but there’s always a side myth like that going on in each of the episodes. The movie may watch a cramped more professional than the expose, but that’s the only dissimilarity. We collected perceive the three silhouettes wisecrack and mock their blueprint through the unpleasant movie. Their delivery is always constant and true on target. In fact, you’re scramble to bag something unique that you didn’t glean the first time around when you search for it again. “This Island Earth” was a grand choice for the movie, although they have been through distinguished worse than this (look the episodes “State Mutiny” or “Manos: Hands of Fate,” and you’ll perceive what I’m saying) . The DVD has no extras whatsoever. Not only that, but it is EXTREMELY hard to bag these days, so well-behaved luck trying to glean it (it’s out there somewhere) .
“Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie” doesn’t disappoint in any plot. It’s always droll, always novel and always clever. Fans of the point to will most likely treasure the movie. It can even be enjoyed by those who are experiencing MST3K for the very first time. If you’re lucky enough to stumble upon this dinky gem, then I highly recommend checking it out. And remember kids, these guys are professionals; do NOT attempt this at home! -Michael Crane

“Its Always Sunny” is without a doubt the funniest show on TV, although I would not recommend it for the easily offended. The writing, the directing, and above all, the acting (of both the main and support cast) is as close to perfection as anything I have seen in a comedy.

Every season they manage to somehow top themselves in hilarity and absurdity, and now that they have developed a good fan base FX must have upped their budget for this season so their wacky antics are even more over the top than previously (for example, there are at least 2 car explosions in season 4, possibly more). On top of their flashier action (well, destruction) sequences the characters have really developed their niches and honed their comedy to razor-thin perfection.
One thing I love about this show is its total lack of conventional sitcom story telling. The main characters not only avoid any and all attempts at morality and “positive” growth, their selfish depravity even morphs the upstanding people around them into degenerates as well. I think it does a good job of pointing out how so many people can be massive hypocrites in today’s politically correct society; for example, “the gang” is hyper-sensitive to any comments they feel might be “racist” and yet all of them are overtly “racist” in their own right; a more extreme example can be seen in one character whom is against abortion and “gays” for what he claims to be religious reasons and yet he has sex out of wedlock with a rather hung transsexual.

I can watch these episodes for free online but I still will be stepping over my own children to buy this DVD as soon as it comes out. It truly is something you can never grow tired of watching over and over again, and everyone I have exposed to “Its Always Sunny” has become an instant fan much as I did when my father first introduced it to me.
The gang is back in this fourth season of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia! This is a brilliant show that has some of the most creative and humorous shows on TV. The show has correctly been identified as “Seinfeld on crack,” as the main characters all have that self-centered, politically-incorrect attitude towards people and life. The cast is phenomenal, from Mac and his sleevless shirts and charlie’s dyslexia, to Dennis and Dee’s problems with their dad Frank (played by Danny Devito), the acting is superb every episode. Other characters including Rickity Cricket and his new set of legs in the “Manhunters” episode and Waitress (yes thats her characters name) who is in love with Dennis, but Cant stand Charlie, everyone is essential to this cast.
Season 4 has some of the funniest, raunchiest, and most disgusting episodes the series has seen yet, as the gang continues to push the envelope with episodes like “The Gang solves the gas crisis”, “Mac’s Banging the Waitress” and “Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life.” Lets not forget the “Who pooped the Bed” episode, or the season finale “The Nightman Cometh,” featuring a musical rendition of Charlie’s (in)famous “Nightman” song.
If you havent seen the show then you should go out and buy it, especially since it is one of the best TV on DVD series you can buy and is much cheaper in comparison with other shows, that frankly aren’t nearly as funny. (You should trust me when I tell you that this show is fantastic. I have a DVD collection of over 600 DVD’s and TV show seasons.) All of these seasons are under $25 I believe… and sometimes you can get them for under $15!
Its also a show you should pick up if you are a fan of shows like Arrested Development and Seinfeld. I can’t believe that I have to wait until September for this show!
Don’t let this show be another Arrested Development! Tell your friends to watch this hilarious show!!! They will thank you for it!

Watch Beauty and the Beast Online.
Movie Title: Beauty and the Beast Beauty and the Beast is available for streaming or downloading. |
The biggest flaw in this story … is that it makes a 45-year-old man cry like a child every time I watch it. My opinions on Disney movies vary — some are good, some are almost unwatchable — but “Beauty and the Beast” is the best work the studio has ever done.
Why do I love this movie so much? I think it’s the music. In some musicals (animated or live), as soon as a song begins, the story comes to a grinding halt. (Can anyone remember one tune from “Mulan”?) But in this film, the music by Ashman and Menken advances the story marvellously. Animation and voice acting combine in a near-flawless performance, and the use of computer animation in the ballroom dance sequence was ground-breaking in its time.
As for the added features, the added song “Human Again” is a wonderful fun number. I can understand why it was left out of the original version, but its inclusion really doesn’t detract from the story (it’s another big production number like “Be Our Guest”, not really essential to the plot, but helps us get to know the supporting characters).
The “making of” features are fairly interesting; the on-disk games I can take or leave. But the film itself is still the gem, worth the purchase price all by itself; the standard by which all other Disney movies are measured.
Disney’s animated version of the classic tale, “Beauty and the Beast,” is every bit as enchanting as the “tale as old as time” that it tells, making its way into our hearts as well as motion picture history. Being the first film nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, as well as six nominations altogether, Disney proves that it has what it takes to make an animated feature enjoyable for adults and children. I remember watching the film as a small child, and now, as an adult, is hasn’t lost its luster, and everything is just as I enjoyed it before.
Through brilliant animation and song, as well as some terrific voice talents, the story of unexpected love comes to new and exciting life. Small-town girl Belle is forced to head into the woods once her father turns up missing, bringing her to a gloomy, secluded castle where she finds him and his captor, a vicious-looking beast. Of course, the beginning of the movie explains the beast’s origins: he was once a selfish prince who, after turning out an old beggar woman, was transformed, given an enchanted rose, and told “if he could learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.”
This begins their rocky-turned-romantic relationship, as they begin to warm to one another. Meanwhile, the town brute, Gaston, has plans of his own, involving some sinister maneuvers involving Belle’s father in hopes that she will agree to marry him.
Many have hailed this as the best of Disney’s films, and they wouldn’t be wrong in saying so, either. It’s easy to see why the movie has become such a success: there are elements at work in this film, just as in every other Disney film, only they seem to have taken on a small degree of maturity with this film’s creation.
The animation is some of the best and most believable I’ve seen for an animated film in a long time. Most of the scenes involving solely characters is the same as most of Disney’s works, but there are scenes of pure life-like reality that have a special flare to them. The ballroom scene is one such scene: the camera angles sweep across a room filled with high-arched glass windows and a chandelier which looks as real as the words you’re reading on this page. Some nice effects go into the creation of the castle as well, especially in the end once everything returns to normal.
The is one of the most moving Disney soundtracks to come along since that of “Cinderella” and “Pinocchio.” It is clear that composers were striving to capture the feeling and influence of their previous score for “The Little Mermaid,” and they truly succeed in doing so. The songs are delightful and will have kids and adults alike smiling and singing along. The score is the perfect underlining for scenes of romance as well as tension and suspense. In case you were wondering, three of the originally written songs were nominated for Academy Awards; that should say something.
This is one of Disney’s most ambitious and successful projects, ranking alongside such cinematic achievements as the successes of “Citizen Kane” and “Gone With The Wind.” Winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture, as well as its Oscar nominations, “Beauty and the Beast” is a hallmark of a time when movies were something that everyone, young and old alike, could enjoy on the same levels. This is the best picture of 1991.

Season 3 of Lost in State had a very ambitious initiate. You could feel the excitement of the current direction the point to tried early in this season. From the engaging and huge novel theme to actually going into residence more often, Season 3 did commence out very well. However, the idle writing to “comedic villain” of the week started to fling up by the middle of this volume.

Season 3, Volume 1 features some of the best episodes of the third season and a few come the best or at least the most ambitious of the entire series. We originate out with the action packed “Condemned of Position” where we gape the Robinson’s remove off, dodge a comet, loose the Robot in Plot and near across a frozen prison. We recede on to “A Visit to a Hostile Planet” where we feature one of the best of the series (though logic is out the window) where our crew returns to Earth of the Past. We prefer a hotfoot to a comic yet unique premise in “Kidnapped in Dwelling” and then the mature “break” in Hunter’s moon. And even when stuck on a planet for a while, they to attempt original recent ideas, most notably some bonding between Don and Smith in “Set Primevals.” And abominable creature effects aside, “Situation Creature” gave us one of the deepest Lost in Region episodes to date.
Near the slay of this volume, it would seem that the writers milked all they could out of the return to action and adventure and had to resolve befriend to farcical fantasy and the results not very grand. We salvage three episodes in a row that ravishing mighty heed the death certificate of the entire series. “A Day at the Zoo” puts the Robinsons in a traveling Zoo. “Two Weeks in Station” features the Jupiter 2 as a resort for fugitive aliens, complete with a cash register and badminton equipment. And “Castles in Place”, while starting strong, falls on its face with a silver Mexican, Don making a mannequin in the likeness of a Mexican woman, and the robot getting drunk. If it weren’t for the favorable “The Anti-Matter Man”, this volume would have gone out on a rotten imprint.

Season 3, Volume 1 is presented in broadcast order I maintain. This is a welcome change because prior video releases did not have them in this order and we often had illogical order to them being crashed and then befriend in region. The DVD transfers are expedient but again, a remaster would have been welcomed.
Season 3 rates arrangement above season 2 in terms of quality but because of hitting rock bottom with some truly poor episodes, the present alas was doomed. Volume 1 of Season 3 features the strongest of the entire season.
LOST IN Place was a comical series. Of that there can be no doubt. It was, however, quite fun. Jonathan Harris, playing Dr. Zachary Smith, stole the indicate as a cowardly, greedy, indolent and incompetent stow away. He was always causing problems and wonderful for a few laughs.
The series changed over the course of 3 seasons. It started out as a fairly serious science fiction series. By the second season, it had become nothing more than a campy comedy. The third season saw a reversion wait on towards the serious extinguish of the spectrum but only impartial barely. The plots were, by a gargantuan, a bit more believeable but there was no doubt that this was as distinguished comedy as drama. The cast did not pick themselves too seriously and that contributed to the fun.
The series was celebrated for silly costumes and special effects which archaic a bang, flash of smoke and disappearance/reappearance to solve any effects region. What the series lacked in seriousness, costume, location, and effects, it made up for with valid humor and some of the richest color to appear on television at that time. It comes through well on the DVDs.
The episodes in this collection include:
One of the things I like about this particular collection is the music. The theme was different each season had had nothing to commend it until the third. For some reason, this theme song struck a chord in me as a young boy and I unruffled like it. It is not tremendous but, to me, it is memorable. Like the series itself, it is not to be taken seriously it is to be simply enjoyed for fun.
Condemned of State – The Robinsons and crew are finally wait on in site again. They had no choice since the planet they had been stranded on was targeted by a rogue comet. As to be expected, they barely made it. No sooner than they out into set, Smith manages to jettison the robot by pushing the sinful button. It seems that the robot is lost for wonderful when the ship finds its draw to a residence state for convicts. Lo and witness, the robot is there waiting for them. While Prof. Robinson and Maj. West go looking for some spare parts, Smith and Will go exploring. Smith wandering around in a prison is NOT a suited plan.
Visit to a Hostile Planet – They almost execute it. An accident takes the Jupiter II to Earth. They land but are mystified when they cannot contact anyone. Slowly, the dreadful truth sets in. They are not in their gain time of 1997 but are in 1947 instead. People reflect they are hostile aliens and the reception is decidedly cool. Things secure even worse when Smith decides to finish on earth to become some sort of a leader. As a bonus, Judy has more lines in this one than she has had in any episode for almost a year.
Kidnapped In Area – The Dr. Smith hears an SOS from another ship while he is listening to the radio. He is inclined to ignore it until he hears that there is a reward. That caught his attention. When he shows up he is told that he will be forced to do brain surgery on their leader. Failure to execute a cure will result in a death sentence for Smith. It gets more complicated when the leader turns out to be a computer. This is where the robot steps up to the plate. His services are liked so well that they do not want to let him go.
Hunter’s Moon – An emergency leads to a forced landing on a planet. The spot is that their presence interrupted a hunter during his hunt. The hunter is a crown prince and his suitability to the throne will be definite by how well he does in his hunting. He decides to earn up his deficient salvage by hunting the Robinsons.
Space Primevals – Volcanoes are threatening the Jupiter II and Smith is sent with Maj. West to dwelling of a charge to cap one of them. When they accept come, they are captured by a tribe of cavemen who are ruled by a computer. Smith and West are sentenced to death. This one is kind of sick in that West and Smith abominate each other but impending death draws them together. Seeing the robot do caveman dances does not create up for it.
Space Destructors – Smith stumbles into a cave with a machine that makes cyborgs. He decides to obtain his maintain personal army to conquer the galaxy. Needless to say, the others are not delighted with this development.
The Jumpy Lighthouse – This one features Penny who finds a castaway boy with unusual powers to affect the minds of others. The Robinsons retract him in fair as they commence. While whizzing about, they near across a lighthouse from earth and its caretaker. They have an opportunity to find home but that means that the boy will not be able to secure home. He is not contented.
Flight Into the Future – Will and Smith accidentally land on a exclusive planet in the spacepod. A machine tries to convince them of a Rip Van Winkle event and that they are all far in the future. Meanwhile, the rest of the Jupiter II crew lands and tries to bag them.
Collision of Planets – While the Jupiter II is grounded doing some repair work, the planet they are on is on a collision course with another planet. The inhabitants of that other planet dispatch a shiftless crew to raze the Robinson’s planet. They are a bunch of inconsiderate hippies who will not grant the Robinsons a few extra hours to complete their repairs. I didn’t care for hippies in the 60s and they seem no better now.
Space Creature – The Jupiter II is captured by a living mist. If this is not unpleasant enough the mist is detestable and feeds on dread. It does all it can to frighten the travelers. Smith makes a likely target.
Deadliest of the Species – While flying through situation, a foreign probe hitches a perambulate unhurried the Jupiter II. When they land, the probe crashes nearby. It turns out that it contains a very uncertain prison escapee and that escapee is a robot, a female robot. The Robinson’s robot naturally falls in esteem and is willing to work against his beget family. This one was fine sappy.
A Day at the Zoo – In intergalactic zookeeper captures the Robinsons to save on indicate in his zoo. Smith manages to ingratiate himself and even manages to consume over, lured to this course of action by his believe avarice. He again manages to hack off everyone. This episode is more like those of the previous season in tone. The first appearance of the alien is so ludicrous that it is a relief to learn he is only wearing a shroud to frighten his prey.
Two Weeks in Set – While most of the family is away, Will, Smith and the Robot are left leisurely at the Jupiter II. They procure a call from an incoming spaceship and Smith sets up as a resort hotel to cash in on the visitors. The pickle is that the visitors are fleeing robbers and are looking to plot up their hosts for the topple.
Castles is Station – While working on a remote communications relay, Wlll, Dr. Smith, Maj. West, Judy and the robot arrive across a frozen alien sarcophagus. The revived alien turns out to be a blooming princess from an ice planet. Another spacefarer shows up looking for her. He has been searching for her so that he can occupy her for ransom. When West refuses to give the princess up, the bandit kidnaps Will.
The Anti Matter Man – Don’t quiz antimatter to mean was physicists mean. In this case is means the “disagreeable twin”. Professor Robinson gets kidnapped by his horrible double from an rank parallel universe. The notion is to replace the trusty Prof so that he can stop in our universe. When he comes through, however, everyone notices that he does not act like himself.

Movie Title: Up Up is available for streaming or downloading. |
Here’s a movie for dog lovers, the elderly, children of divorce, FOBs (Friends of Birds), former Boy Scouts, people yearning for adventure, and anyone who has ever loved… and lost. Up is for everyone. It made me laugh out loud, and it made me cry.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Up! Click Here
I thought it would be tough for Up to match the emotional power of Wall-E. The two Pixar films are similar in their lack of dialogue in the first act, which helps deepen the emotional impact. Up begins with Carl, a shy young boy star-struck by a famous explorer; and kookie Ellie, who has a similar obsession. The two kids become fast friends, and vow to one day travel to Venezuela’s Paradise Falls. After getting married, they buy their dream home and fix it up, hoping to fill it with children. Carl and Ellie’s life together from childhood through old age is depicted, silently, with delicacy and subtlety. The first 15 minutes is like a celebration of a happy marriage, and you truly feel Carl’s pain when he is left alone. He sits slumped in his chair, talking to the house as if it is the missing Ellie.
When developers close in on Carl’s beloved home, he decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie and travel to Paradise Falls. A former balloon vendor, Carl lifts his home with hundreds of colorful balloons. Stowing away on the porch is Russell, a plump, plucky kid trying to earn a scouting badge.

After landing in Paradise Falls, the old man and the little boy are joined by a golden retriever named Dug who can talk with his collar, and a huge rare bird that bonds with Russell (he names her “Kevin”). Dug is priceless: spot-on for every dog that ever lived, including an obsession with squirrels. Through a series of close calls and adventures, the quartet vanquishes a villain, saving the day. And Russell earns his scouting badge.
In the process, Carl learns to let go of his sad mourning for Ellie, and live life again. When this happens, a truly magical thing happens. Before, Carl’s craggy face is gray and monochromatic. At the moment of his transformation, Carl’s face is awash in color, and he is surrounded by beautiful hues. It reminded me of The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy steps out of her gray world and into a candy-colored Munchkinland. Carl, too, enters a whole new world.
Up is a deeply emotional film, full of truth. It’s the year’s best film. Score another triumph for Pixar.
Someday, Pixar is going to do it — they’re going to create an emotionally uninspiring, lackluster animated movie. But in the meantime, they’re still putting out delightful animated movies like “Up,” which defies the usual kid-movie conventions by starring a crotchety old man. It’s a charming, fun little adventure story with flying dogs and balloon-powered houses, but underlying it is a bittersweet little story about loss and love.
As a child, the shy Carl Fredricksen bonded with the oddball Ellie over their shared love of adventure, the explorer Charles Muntz, and Paradise Falls. They later married, move into their “clubhouse” together, and lived a long, sadly childless life together. When Ellie died, she had never fulfilled her dream of going to Paradise Falls.
Now crotchety, alone and harassed by a real estate developer, Carl (Ed Asner) is finally ordered to a retirement home. But he isn’t going quietly — instead he attaches thousands of balloons to his house and floats it away toward South America. But he accidentally takes an enthusiastic, naive Wilderness Explorer (a thinly-veiled Boy Scout) named Russell (Jordan Nagai) along for the ride. Poor kid was just trying to earn an “assisting the elderly” badge.
And the jungle trek to Paradise Falls turns out to have some surprising obstacles: a big emulike bird that Russell names Kevin, a talking dog named Dug (”I am jumping on you, bird!”), and a mysterious old man who lives deep in the heart of the jungle. Turns out the old guy is very familiar to Carl — and to capture Kevin, he’s willing to sacrifice Carl and Russell.
Industry experts were babbling about how “Up” wouldn’t be as popular as the previous Pixar movies, because the protagonist is basically a crusty old coot. Well, shows what they know. It ended up becoming one of those classic movies that somehow appeals to all ages — while the humor and action appeal to children, adults can appreciate Carl’s love for his lost wife, and his slow realization that he’s clinging to the past.
In fact, the first ten minutes are some of the most heart-tugging, quietly bittersweet scenes I’ve seen in a long time. Without a word, they show all the ups and downs of a realistic marriage — joys, sorrows (Ellie’s inability to have children), growing old together, and finally loss.
But it’s not a depressing movie by any stretch — in fact, it’s like a childhood fantasy come to life, complete with a floating house suspended on hundreds of balloons, and biplanes piloted by a talking dog army.. Plenty of great dialogue (”Do you want to play a game? It’s called See Who Can Go the Longest Without Saying Anything.” “Cool! My mom loves that game!”) and an action-packed climax in an aged airship.
Ed Asner is absolutely perfect as ubergrouch Carl — crotchety, grumpy, and determined to fulfill his wife’s lifelong dream, but gradually realizing he’s clinging to the past. Nagai is equally perfect as Carl’s polar opposite: a naive, chattery Scout who is determined to reunite Kevin with her baby chicks. And the utterly adorable Dug and the other dogs deserve special notice. These creatures are utterly hilarious — they talk (”I hid under your porch because I love you”) and act the way dogs would if they talked. Three words: cone of shame.
The two-disc edition is going to have some very nice extras, but once again people with regular-def DVDs are going to get shafted because the Blu-ray edition will have a bunch of exclusive stuff. Grr. As for this one, there’s a digital copy, the director’s audio commentary, kinda-alternate-ending “The Many Endings of Muntz,” and the documentary “Adventure Is Out There” about the research for this movie.
There are also a pair of adorable animated shorts. “Partly Cloudy” has a much-abused stork having to deliver potentially harmful baby creatures from a kind but clueless cloud. And “Dug’s Special Mission” is a sort of backstory for the adorable Dug, explaining what the heck he was doing before he met up with Carl and Russell.
“Up” continues Pixar’s running tally of gloriously animated, emotionally layered movies that the entire family can enjoy. With that, I have only one more thing to say… SQUIRREL!

Someone wrote a review previously that said parents who were bashing this thing that dares to call itself DR. SEUSS’ THE CAT IN THE HAT had forgotten that the significant reason for its existence was to entertain children. They wrote that their children’s laughter was the most significant thing to remember when sitting through this defective part of dreck.
Visually, this film is spirited in the same plot an acid dream would be. The actors are a group of talented people. But, in case you didn’t explore it when you were watching the film or have had the edifying fortune not to watch it yet, the jokes are lewd and inappropriate; the account was bloated unnecessarily. The movie exists for no reason except to earn money. It was not done in the spirit of the recent book. It was not done because someone found an appropriate or inspired come to the material. (In fact, the film is uninteresting, insipid, confusing and, for no reason at all, includes jokes about lawyers and insurance – jokes that I hope were lost on children.)
The book is simple, bewitching, brief and to-the-point. It makes reading fun, and it encourages children and beginning readers to embrace a practice that will enrich their minds. This film does none of that. It’s not even silly.

Mike Myers would be better ancient in something else. Alec Baldwin really needs to win better projects than this. Dakota Fanning and Spencer Breslin are talented young actors who deserve better material, rather than having to design characters stuck in the middle of a mindless special-effects extravaganza.
THE CAT IN THE HAT, if there was any justice, should design no money in the theaters. (Unfortunately, though, it has.) But a lot of people who’ve seen it loathe the film. Detest it. Dislike loathe disapprove dislike detest it.
Take that as a warning.
This is one of those movies that I have walked out of and all I could believe was “Why???? “”

How could they bewitch a sweet legend and obnoxious it this diagram? I have sat many a night with my children, reading this record over and over. They absolutely admire Seuss.
This movie is visually spectacular, but does not beget upright to the spirit of Dr. Seuss. It is not approptiate for young children. It is Austin Powers dressed up like the Cat in the Hat. The need to throw in execrable innuendos in a film that should be for children and families is objective dark. The rating for this movie should be PG-13. If the studios feel the need to add adult bits to a film, then please don’t target my kids!
